The school based within Tumblewood Community
facilitates up to 12 secondary residential female pupils.
With a provision for 38-week day or residential placements.
The school has attained DfES Final Registration. There
are 3 full time qualified teachers including the head teacher
and 2 part time teachers. The teaching timetable is full
time and is broad and balanced to cover all the National
Curriculum requirements. This is differentiated to the
academic abilities of the individuals and varied in content.
The timetable is specific to KS3 and KS4 and is further
individualised through SEN provision and therapeutic
withdrawal work.
Within the school prospectus you will be able to see the
positive academic progress we have made working with
pupils with pronounced learning difficulties. For example,
ADHD, ODD, OCD, dyspraxia, anti social behaviours,
dyslexia, language difficulties, and borderline communication
disorders are facilitated through special remedial instruction.
There is a range of accreditation from entry level to GCSE
and qualifications in ASDAN, CLAIT and ALAN. KS3
tests are carried out for year nine pupils in the three core
subjects.This is supproted by regular internal assessment,
monitoring and reporting
